There are a lot of accounts and passwords that DEF volunteers are sharing, which can create confusion and frustration if not somehow managed. In order to address the challenge, we opted to start using a password manager, Psono, which is free and offers the ability to do many typical things you would expect in a password manager (minus the mobile view, which is pretty rough).
The idea is that you get the password from Psono and update whatever tool you normally use for passwords. The goal is to have one stop shop for all the account information that is always updated (and no single person that has the only access to a given account or application).
To set up your account,
Select Register (near login button)
Create account (username, DEF email, personal password of choice)
Post your user name to the #operations channel in Slack so that we can add you to the team
Within Groups on the left menu, then click Accept for the invitation to “DEF Volunteer Team”
Add and update passwords with group as needed.
Keep the Ops Team in the loop - post in lt-operations in Slack if you have issues, questions, or make changes.
